Weight Loss Injections
In recent years, the battle against obesity has seen the emergence of innovative treatments aimed at providing effective and sustainable weight loss solutions. Among these, semaglutide injections gain greater popularity by the day. This solution, originally developed for diabetes management, is now being hailed by many as a breakthrough in weight loss therapy. Our board-certified plastic surgeon, James F. Boynton, MD, offers semaglutide injections as a supplemental tool for weight loss that can either be self-administered right in your own home, or an experienced member of our team can administer the injections here at our office. If you are a candidate for semaglutide injections for weight loss, our provider can talk with you about the next steps.
Are Weight Loss Injections Right for Me?
If you are considering weight loss injections to help you lose weight, we can meet with you during an initial consultation to evaluate your needs and determine your candidacy. Typically, this treatment appears to be most successful for patients who have a body mass index (BMI) of 30 or more, or a BMI of at least 27 when accompanied by a minimum of one obesity-related health condition. It is also important for candidates to have realistic expectations for treatment outcomes, and to understand that semaglutide injections should be viewed as a supplement to a healthy diet and fitness regimen, not as a standalone weight loss solution.
What Is Involved in the Weight Loss Injection Treatment Process?
Before the process begins, patients will be examined and any necessary lab work will be conducted. We offer two options for semaglutide treatment at our practice: patients can either perform their treatment at home with self-administered injections, or they can come to our practice for administration of the injections by one of our experienced providers. Injections are delivered in a series of treatments, once per week for four weeks. A three-month series is often recommended. The injections are generally placed in an area such as the upper arm, thigh, or abdomen. New needles should be utilized for each new injection, and the injection site should be different each time, as well.
Semaglutide can have an effect on one’s blood sugar levels, so it is important for our medical team to monitor your overall health and progress throughout the treatment process. We will provide detailed guidelines and instructions, and we welcome patients to contact our practice with any questions or concerns.
How Much Do Weight Loss Injections Cost?
The cost of semaglutide injections for weight loss at our practice is $500 per month for self-administered doses, which include four doses. The duration of treatment is typically three months; we don’t advise less than three months because, usually, weight loss is not likely to be seen with fewer treatments. Please note that there is an additional fee for patients who choose to have their doses administered here at our practice rather than administering the injections themselves. A member of our team at Boynton Plastic Surgery will be happy to answer any questions you may have about the many convenient payment options available at our practice.
